Hotel Posta
Hotel Posta is located in a 16th-century noble palace, Palazzo Guidoni.
Two hundred meters from the Duomo, Palazzo Guidoni is one of those places that tell stories without the need for words.
Built in the 16th century by one of Orvieto’s noble families, it has hosted travelers for over a century. The marble staircase, the wrought-iron gate, the barrel vaults of the entrance hallway: these are details that no renovation could invent. They’ve been there for centuries, waiting to be experienced.
Outside the door, a two-minute walk takes you to Piazza del Duomo. The nearest public parking is twenty meters from the entrance—a rare detail for a hotel in the historic center.
The hospitality comes from the heart, and comfort is essential, in the truest sense of the word: everything you need for a comfortable stay is there. The palace does the rest. The rooms have been renovated without altering anything. Some rooms overlook the internal garden, our courtyard, left intact by time. Centuries-old trees, silence, and that filtered light that only historic buildings can preserve. Others look out toward the rooftops and bell towers of Orvieto—a view that reminds you, at any time of day, of where you are. In spring and summer, the continental buffet breakfast is served on the patio overlooking the internal garden.
It’s a place to stop, even if just for a moment, to experience the silence that noble palaces can preserve even in the middle of a city.
