Overview
For art and history lovers, Narni offers the interesting opportunity to visit a large number of underground environments as part of a very well structured guided tour of the Narni Underground.
The visit is divided into the underground rooms of the ancient complex of the Convent of San Domenico, starting with the ancient proto-Romanesque church frescoed in the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries, which was discovered only in 1979 by a group of young speleologists thanks to whom it was possible to bring back the whole Narni Underground complex is uncovered.
Among the other rooms, it is possible to admire the remains of a Roman plant with a cistern, the Roman aqueduct with Lacus annex, a cell full of graffiti made by inmates by the Inquisition Tribunal.
